Jeff Graansma

Jeff Graansma is an engineering research lab director at University of Waterloo. He started in automotive research as a technician and has progressed over 12 years to a director position. Jeff’s Mechatronics Vehicle Lab at University of Waterloo has done electrification development for General Motors, Self driving shuttle busses for campus, large robotic tractors for agriculture, and self-driving robots for warehouses. He has worked in a wide range of roles involved in performing robotics research; equipment design, manufacturing, electrical, programming, operations and experiments. Jeff is now a Co-Founder of the startup “Movarion” where he is applying this experience in the healthcare space, by developing power assisted carts, and automation systems for strenuous tasks.
